OUR LEGEND OF THE WEEK- DOLU IGE.

OUR LEGEND OF THE WEEK

#1
She was just 23 when she died after a fearless battle with cancer, but within that short span of her life, she had achieved what many could not even if they attained the age of 100. She was an embodiment of brilliance, beauty and impeccable look. She was such a great personality whose credibility attracted young and old to her. Who was she?
She was Modurodoluwa Iyanuoluwa Ige. Born on 18th October, 1989 as the 2nd child in a family of 3, Sisi Durodoluwa Iyanuoluwa Mashadi (as she was fondly called by friends) grew up to become what we can simply call “the joy of motherhood”. She was a no-nonsense and admirable Health Prefect Girl with numerous ‘school daughters and sons’ during her secondary school days. The press club of Gof International College, Osogbo, where she graduated few years ago, will never forget her fashion-styled presentations. She was an adept newscaster.
The 2010 Political Science graduate of Redeemers University, Lagos State and an indigene of Ilesha in Osun State, will forever be remembered as a dedicated member of the chapel's army of ushers. What a God-fearing lady she was! The fashionable Dolu Ige completed her studies with excellent grades and served her fatherland accordingly. The elegant lady finally succumbed in her battle with Rectal Cancer on Sunday, 16th of June, 2013. The hundreds of messages that flooded her Facebook page within hours of her death were enough to speak for her. What a great loss for our dear nation. “Modurodoluwa Ige, the cold hands of death took you away from us. If tears could bring you back, we would gladly cry to bring you back. All we can do now is to live our lives well by helping, caring and loving one another. RIP Dolu”, one of her friends wrote on Facebook.
Achievers and great men world around agree that true success is measured by the amount of lives they have affected positively and the magnitude of the effect they have on those lives. Riches and Wealth will always come as a by product and will also pass away with them, but their impact will remain forever just like Ige Modurodoluwa.
Dolu Ige, we love you but God loves you most, continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord where we shall meet to part no more. Rest In Peace!
