The 2015 Edition Of HRF Secondary School Tour Kicks Off

Hundreds of students have been enlightened and inspired in the last few days. Exactly on May 13, the organisation officially unveiled the 2015 edition of the highly anticipated HRF Secondary School Tour.

It’s one of the cardinal programs of Hope Rising Foundation Nigeria which seeks to raise valuable leaders of excellence at secondary school level. The president of the organisation had earlier informed the general public during a short interview after #HRFdonates:OBA2015 (a massive charity program) held at Covenant Charity Home, Moro, Ile Ife in Osun State on May 2 that the School Tour would soon kick off.

Components of the tour include enlightenment of the students on informed choices of career, infusion of the right leadership values, exchange of students’ personal dreams for Nigeria as well as the discovery of talents.

On the tour were young and seasoned speakers who inspired the students with their personal stories. “Not only presidents, governors, senators are leaders; you can start leading as a secondary school student. And that is how we can build a great nation; you are not too young to bring about change in Nigeria. As a matter of fact, change begins with you”, one of the guest speakers, Aderinwale Ayodele said this while speaking to the students of Baptist High School, Osogbo, Osun State.

On day two of the tour, the train moved to Iwo Baptist High School, Osun State where the students were thrilled as the members of the team shared many secrets of success with them using their personal stories. Others on the team were Oyesoro Tunde (Predident),Ganiyu Habibat (Chief Facilitator of the project),Oladiran Busayo,Taiwo Olabisi,Agbeleye Olanrewaju,The students were also not left out in the talks.

While sharing their personal dreams for Nigeria, Bashrudeen Abdul-Azeez (SS2 student) said:”My dream is that Nigeria should become a developed country. As we can observe the situations in the country e.g insecurity, unstable electricity, hike in fuel price etc, we the youths have a big role to play by organising ourselves to solve the problems little by little”.

The Senior Prefect Girl of the school also said: “Sometimes, I sit down and I imagine a Nigeria free of insecurity, filled with great youths. I want a Nigeria in which the whole world will come just to have a taste of our country. I wish all Nigerians could be educated as much as possible and poverty, illiteracy could be totally eradicated from our country”.

The students were also inspired by the words of Kofoworola Ayodeji (a transformational speaker) who engaged them in a thought-provoking session. According to him: ”You are the one we have been waiting for. Nigeria is currently facing many challenges and the solutions lie within you. Yes, you! I mean all of you who are seated before me. I mean those of who take classes inside these classrooms I’m pointing at. We must all consciously build an enviable nation that our children and grandchildren would be very proud of”.

The students were given the help line of the organisation so that they could get some help whenever they are in need of one. It was indeed an unforgettable experience for all the students and members of the team. The tour continues next week…Find some of the pictures here:

#HRFdonates:OBA2015 Was A Huge Success...

Saturday May 2, 2015 was a very remarkable day for the inhabitants of Covenant Orphanage Home located at Moro, Ile Ife in Osun State and all members of Hope Rising Foundation (HRF) Nigeria. It was the 2015 edition of the organisation’s charity programme which was tagged “#HRFdonates: OBA2015”. The OBA is an acronym for Ologunde Busayo Adepeju who is a distinguished member of our amiable organisation who lost her life in a fatal motor accident on March 9, 2015.

The life-long goal of this 23 year old Architect was to cater for the needy in the society especially women and children. In a bid to immortalize her, the annual charity programme has been named after her. She was such a great personality, a legendary lady; so, her legacy must live forever.

The event featured a charity dance contest between the children of Covenant Orphanage Home and members of Hope Rising Foundation Nigeria. There were also games like Ludo, Card, PlayStation. The children as well as all members of the organisation were very excited to the brim amidst massive donations and refreshments.

In the course of the event, great talents were discovered. A very notable one was a JSS One student who proved to be a very excellent public speaker. Her name is Amara and she is a bundle of talents.

When asked about the kind of Nigeria they were looking forward to, one of the children said: ‘I want a Nigeria that everything will work perfectly well. I want our government to truly care for the citizens. And we must change our attitude as Nigerians so as to make Nigeria great”.

According to the president of the organisation, Engr. Tunde Oyesoro when interviewed after the programme, he said:

"Your dream is not big enough if it does not help others to fulfill their dreams; we were made for each other because no one is self-sufficient on his (her) own.
Everyone needs one because no one is free from the battles and challenges of life. This great project was held in honour of our dearest sister and member, Ologunde Busayo whom we recently lost to the cold hands of death. May her gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace. With the completion of this project, the next on our list is HRF SECONDARY SCHOOL TOUR and we are fully set to start next week”.

The project’s Chief Facilitator, Miss Oladiran Busayo also said: “I’m so excited that this project went as planned. I saw hope, excitement, and courage written all over the children. It’s indeed a great feeling that we are making things happen even as young people. Thank God” For those who were part of this great event in one way or the other, history can never leave their names out. It’s such a fulfilling and incredible feat.
